Rosy Apples- Swedish mid-century by Edvin Ollers (1888-1959)
This charming still life of rosy apples on a checked tablecloth is painted by the well-listed Swedish artist Edvin Ollers and dated 1955. It is an oil on canvas, measuring 38cm x 21 cm and painted in Ollers distinctive signature palette of soft pinks with pops of teal. It has been newly housed in a bespoke bronze aged frame which further enhances the rich colour palette.
Ollers was a multi-talented designer and artist who was heavily influenced by the French Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne.
He is well represented in several museums including the National Museum in Stockholm, the Modern Museum in Stockholm, and the State Museum of Art in Copenhagen. He is has become very collectable and is a highly sought after artist.
