Apples with Yellow Bowl - Ture Pettersson (1919-2000)
Striking mid-century (C1950’s) still life of apples with a yellow bowl by listed Swedish artist, Ture Petterssen. Petterssen was self-taught but later studied at the Varlands Art school in Stockholm.
Simply executed, the vivid, modernist apples and bowl pop against the bold, grey shadows of the tablecloth background. Housed in it’s original metallic frame, this would look stunning in a kitchen setting.
